SCJP 1.4

SCJP: INTRODUCTION

SCJP is an entry-level certification provided by Sun Microsystems. The Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform 1.4 Certification Exam is intended for programmers experienced in using the basic syntax and structure of the Java programming language. The Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) credential is a premier certification for students who want to program custom business solutions with Java development tools and technologies.

In August 2002, Sun Microsystems introduced a new version of the Sun Certified Java Programmer (SCJP) exam, updated to reflect the changes to the Java platform over the past couple of years.
